Green Bay Packers vs Baltimore Ravens Predictions

It’s a battle of division leaders in this Week 15 interconference tilt when the Green Bay Packers visit the Baltimore Ravens. There were some anxious moments for the Ravens in Sunday’s loss with Lamar Jackson leaving the game with an ankle injury. The Ravens are hopeful the former league MVP can play on Sunday and haven’t ruled him out as they look to end a two-game losing streak.

The reigning MVP will line up on the other side with Aaron Rodgers behind center. Green Bay looks to keep pace for the top spot in the NFC with wins and covers in its last two games. The Packers opened as a 5-point favorite on the NFL betting line.

Odds Analysis

Given Jackson’s blurry status for this matchup it wasn’t surprising to see the Ravens open as a 5-point underdog. They would likely be catching points even if LJ was healthy since they’ve struggled over the last month winning just twice in their previous five outings.

Baltimore closed as a 3-point dog in Sunday’s AFC North clash with Cleveland covering the line in their 24-22 setback scoring their most points in five outings. They are 3-1 ATS in their last four games and 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in four games when playing as a dog.

Green Bay just keeps winning and paying off its backers. Storming back from a halftime deficit, the Packers blew out the Bears on Sunday night for their second straight win and cover. They are the most profitable team in the NFL going 11-2 ATS.

Even with his ‘COVID’ toe Rodgers is competing at a high level and the Packers are rolling. They reached double figures in wins with a second half comeback to down the Bears 45-30 on Sunday night covering the 11.5-point spread. And they did all the damage after being shutout in the first quarter.

Rodgers had another masterful performance throwing for 341 yards and four touchdowns. He’s thrown for more than 300 yards in each of his last three games with 10 TD passes and zero interceptions. The Packers averaged over 37 points in those games cashing the OVER every time.

There are some concerns moving forward, though. The offensive line had to shuffle around with an injury to Billy Turner that left the club with only Royce Newman as a preferred starter. And Rodgers said his toe felt worse after Sunday’s game. Imagine how bad it would feel if the Packers lost.

“We’ve gotten decimated, no doubt about it. But nobody’s feeling sorry for us, I can promise you that. You have an expectation for how we’ve got to go out there and play and that’s the mindset that we have, it doesn’t matter, you find a way to get it done,” Matt LaFleur said.

Baltimore Ravens

I’m not sure any team has dealt with more injuries to key players this season than the Ravens. It all started before the season opener when running backs JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards were lost for the year and has continued with both sides getting equal treatment. Somehow the Ravens have survived entering the last quarter of the campaign with a slim one-game lead in the AFC North.

But maybe all the body blows are starting to have an impact. Baltimore lost its second straight, 24-22, on Sunday with backup Tyler Huntley nearly pulling off a remarkable comeback. I guess it was only a matter of time before Jackson got hurt. His reckless style of play and the number of injuries the team has suffered made it a likely pairing.

Jackson exited Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, though John Harbaugh is hopeful his QB will play. If not, Huntley would make his second career start. Huntley threw for 270 yards and a touchdown with an additional 45 yards on six rush attempts nearly rallying the Ravens from a 24-3 deficit.

Points have been hard to come by over the past five games with Sunday’s output the highest in that span. There have been issues on defense, too, especially against the pass with Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters on IR. The Ravens rank next to last allowing over 266 yards per game and must deal with one of the best in the business in Rodgers.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens +5 and OVER 43.5

Packers at Ravens Predictions

Even with both teams dealing with injuries this has the potential to be a thrilling matchup. Both clubs have plenty at stake over the last month with the Pack tracking down the top seed in the NFC and the Ravens looking to hold onto their division lead. And despite their issues the Ravens are just a game out of the top spot in the AFC.

The status of Jackson is obviously a key concern. If he’s able to play I think we’ll see more action on Baltimore brining the spread down. Jumping on the points now looks like a good move, though, since the Ravens are 5-1 at home.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens +5 and OVER 43.5
