The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a big favorite on the NFL betting line against the New York Giants in the final game of the Week 11 betting slate. The defending champs have dropped two in a row SU and ATS to fall into the middle of the NFC playoff pack, but that hasn’t deterred oddsmakers from positioning the Bucs as a 10.5-point favorite, the largest spread on the weekly board.

The Bucs looked completely disjointed in last week’s 29-19 loss to Washington, matching their lowest scoring output of the season. Coming off their bye, the Giants look to continue a run of strong play. They won two of their previous three games while going 3-0 ATS.

The Week 11 Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL at 8:15 p.m. ET on November 22 and will be televised on ESPN.

Odds Analysis

The opening line had the Bucs favored by as many as 12.5-points at some shops with the number wagered down to Tampa -10.5 as of this writing. It looks like Tampa hit a mid-season wall losing back-to-back games for only the second time since Tom Brady entered the picture. They haven’t dropped three straight and are a big favorite to continue that trend.

The Bucs will welcome a return home where they are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS this year and 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS dating back to last season and including their Super Bowl triumph. A nice win over the Raiders sent the Giants into their bye on a positive note. They won two of their previous three games while covering them all. The G-men also picked it up defensively holding all three opponents to 20 points or less to cash the UNDER in every game. The total dropped to 50 after hitting the board at 51.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Even the greats can have a bad game every now and then. Brady tossed a pair of first quarter interceptions last week to the team formerly known as the Redskins putting his club in an early hole. That gives Brady four picks in his last two games, both losses by the way, for more than half of his season total. It’s hard to score when you don’t have the football and the Bucs posted two of their lowest point totals of the season against Washington and New Orleans.

Despite their recent flaws the Bucs still boast one of the top offenses in the NFL. Brady averages nearly 320 passing yards for the league’s best aerial attack and the Bucs rank third in total offense with 406.4 yards per game and in scoring at more than 31 points per outing. Bruce Arians was pissed about his team’s performance last week, especially coming off a bye.

No one is questioning the talent on the Bucs. They won a Super Bowl title last season and brought back nearly the entire starting lineup on both sides. Right now it’s about execution and the Bucs aren’t doing that. “It’s about execution and being a smart football team. We’re a very dumb football team. And that’s a reflection on the coaches,” Arians said. I think the team got the message.

New York Giants

The Giants have to feel better about their trajectory following a win over Las Vegas ahead of their bye. And it looks like some key members of the offense could make their way back to the field after the off week. It’s easy to look at the numbers and say the Giants’ offense sucks. And while that’s true, it’s also somewhat misleading. They played most of the season without Saquon Barkely, there’s been a revolving door at receiver and the line had guys playing out of position. That could change significantly on Monday.

Barkley has played one full game this season and missed the previous four. Barkley and tackle Andrew Thomas both have a realistic chance of playing on Monday night putting the offense as close to full strength as it’s been all season. That doesn’t mean New York is going to light up the scoreboard, but there is room for improvement. The ground game is among the worst in the NFL averaging 95.3 yards and the Giants score fewer than 20 points an outing.

Add in resurgent play by the defense and it’s been a boost for UNDER bettors. The Giants allowed more than 20 points in five of their first six games, but held each of the past three opponents to 20 points or less to cover the spread and cash the UNDER in all three. New York was catching 10.5-points in its Week 8 visit to KC staying within the line in a 20-17 setback.

Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -10.5 and OVER 50

Giants vs Buccaneers Predictions

Tampa has been strong at home and I don’t expect Brady to be so philanthropic with the football again. Four picks in two games put him in Sam Darnold territory. And I do think the veteran Bucs team will respond positively after getting reamed by their head coach making it an easy pick to back the home team despite the double-digit spread.
