Now You Can Bet on the State of Union Address

President Donald Trump will deliver his annual State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 4th at 9 p.m. ET in the U.S. House of Representatives–a day before he is expected to be acquitted in the Senate impeachment trial and a day after the Iowa caucuses provide the first results in the Democratic presidential race.

The oddsmakers at offshore sports betting website, BookMaker.eu, have posted some interesting betting props on the event. BookMaker.eu took a beating during the 2019 State of the Union paying out almost $300,000 in winnings, as the majority of the market bet that President Trump would make more than three false statements (as per the Washington Post Fact Checker ). This year, oddsmakers are setting the number of false statements made during the State of the Union at 6.5.

“Trump’s false statement pace rating has accelerated year over year,” said Head Political trader Angus Daglass. “The fact-checkers are so overwhelmed; they no longer provide any deterrent to him.”

Here is a list of the current State of The Union betting props offered by BookMaker.
