Both teams are coming off a bye, which is about the only thing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Football Team have in common at this juncture of the season. There is another thing; both teams lost ahead of their off week so they’re chomping at the bit to get back on the field.

The team formerly known as the Redskins will try to end a 4-game SU and ATS losing skid as a big underdog on Sunday. The Bucs had their 4-game winning streak stopped by the Saints and attempt to get back in the win column as a 10-point favorite on the NFL betting line.

The NFL Week 10 matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Football Team will take place at FedEx Field at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 14, 2021 and will be televised on FOX.

Odds Analysis

There’s been no movement since the line hit the board at Tampa -10. The Bucs were rocked 36-27 by New Orleans in their last outing where they closed as a 4-point favorite. They’ve been the favorite in every game this season going 3-5 ATS. The Bucs have yet to get a payout on the road going 2-2 SU and 0-4 ATS.

Double digit spreads aren’t uncommon for the Bucs, who’ve been favored by 10 points or more four times going 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS. Washington is the NFL’s money pit with just one payout in eight games. Troubles on offense led them to cashing the UNDER in three straight games with Sunday’s total hitting the board at 51.5.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The week off came at a good time for the Bucs, who were dealing with a number of injuries heading into their Week 8 tilt with the Saints. It would be nice to finally have the roster at close to full strength and that’s a possibility with cornerbacks Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy-Bunting expected to play. Rob Gronkowski returned for the Saints game but left after a few plays due to a back injury. Gronk, Scottie Miller and Antonio Brown are all listed as questionable.

Despite the injuries the Bucs are battling for the top spot in the NFC while holding a one-game lead over the Saints in the division. A lot of that success has to do with an offense that leads the NFL in scoring averaging 32.5 points cashing the OVER in five of eight games. At his advanced age Tom Brady continues to excel. He leads the league with 25 touchdown passes and is second with 2,650 passing yards.

And it’s never a good thing to catch Brady after he had a bad game. Brady tossed a pair of interceptions to the Saints, including a pick-six, exceeding his total over the previous six games combined. New Orleans has picked off seven of Brady’s throws in three games since he joined the Bucs. The GOAT responded after the first two Saints games by throwing for 558 yards and four scores leading Tampa to a pair of wins.

Washington Redskins Football Team

Starting a season with six losses in eight games is nothing new for the Football Team. In fact it happened just last season and the club was able to overcome that, win five of its last seven contests and claim the NFC East title. The hole appears to be much deeper this season, though. First off, winning the division is going to be difficult since the Cowboys are playing good football. And a losing record isn’t going to get it done. Also, there are more questions than answers following a 17-10 loss to Denver that put the team at 2-6.

The biggest question is can they win with Taylor Heinicke at QB. The immediate answer is no, after the former Skins scored a total of 33 points over the last three games. They average fewer than 20 points for the season and even with a defense that’s played better recently, that ain’t gonna get it done. And we don’t know when or if Ryan Fitzpatrick will return. The door is still open for a reunion with Ron Rivera and Cam Newton.

Washington played the Bucs tough in last season’s wild card round, falling at home 31-23 and staying with the 10-point spread. Heinicke threw for 306 yards and a touchdown in that game, but the defense did little to stop Brady, who had 381 passing yards and a pair of scores. Tampa also got 142 yards on the ground. Washington’s defense has been much worse this season giving up a NFL high 286.8 yards through the air.

Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -10 and OVER 51.5

Tampa Bay Bucs vs Washington Redskins Prediction

Both teams enjoyed the bye and hope to have some reinforcements back for the rest of the season. It’s the Bucs who benefit most, though, with their secondary ready to be at full strength. That’s not good for a Washington offense that’s struggled to score. And Brady wants nothing more than to make up for his rough outing in the previous game.
