Clippers vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

The Golden State Warriors finally picked up their first road win of the season in their ninth try, now they’ll look to continue their home streak when they take on Pacific Division rival Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. The Dubs have won six in a row at home going 4-2 ATS. The return of Kawhi Leonard last week sparked the Clips to what Tyronn Lue called their best game of the season in a 119-97 rout of the Spurs. It was LA’s second straight win and third in four games moving them closer to the top of the division standings.

Wednesday’s game will air live on ESPN with tip off at 10 p.m. ET from Chase Center in San Francisco, CA. BookMaker.eu will have betting options for every game on the NBA schedule.

With Paul George and now Leonard in the lineup you expect the Clippers to pick things up offensively. Their point total in the win over San Antonio on Saturday was the second-highest of the season and even with that outburst they are the lowest scoring team in the Association with 105.2 per game. They improved to 10-7 SU winning for the third time in four games going 3-1 ATS. They’ve actually been one of the more profitable teams in the NBA since the start of November with seven payouts in 10 games. They are bolstered by a strong defense that limits opponents to 105.4 points leading to numerous low-scoring affairs. The UNDER is 14-3 through their first 17 games.

It took a while but the Warriors finally got the monkey off their back. Losers of their first eight road games the Dubs needed a breakout game from Klay Thompson to get past Houston 127-120 on Sunday. Thompson struggled with his shot most of the season before hitting 10 of 13 triples for a season-high 41 points more than doubling his season average of 15.5 points entering the contest. The home/road splits are drastic with the team 1-8 on road while going 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS at Chase Center.

Los Angeles Clippers

When Leonard returned to the floor last week against Detroit the Clippers got a glimpse of the team they can be. The former Finals MVP missed all of last season recovering from knee surgery and came off the bench in two games at the start of the year. The knee acted up leaving him on the shelf for 12 games before the much-anticipated return. Leonard didn’t stuff the stat sheet against the Pistons scoring six points on 2 of 8 shooting with five rebounds and four assists in 24 ½ minutes, but his presence was certainly felt.

“His impact defensively is huge for us. With him on the floor we’re a different team. It gives us a sense of calmness when he has the ball in his hands,” Lue said of Leonard. We won’t see Kawhi play every game from here on out with his availability depending on how his reconstructed knee feels day to day. “It’s going to be a long journey,” Leonard said of his recovery. He was feeling better against the Spurs hitting 5 of 8 shots for 11 points. The Clips are 3-1 in the games he played cashing the UNDER in all four.

Golden State Warriors

If Thompson can continue playing like he did against the Rockets the rest of the NBA will be on notice. The defending champs struggled on the road and Thompson had a hard time finding his shot. Everything changed – at least for the moment – on Sunday night. With Thompson unconscious from behind the arc the Warriors stopped their eight-game road losing skid with a 127-120 victory over Houston. They failed to cover the 10.5-point spread, though, against the worst team in the Western Conference.

It was a big deal since on a recent road trip the Warriors lost to Charlotte, Detroit and Orlando, the three worst teams in the East with a combined 12 wins between them entering the week. And the Dubs are just a different team at home. Overall they rank 24th in defensive rating with only three teams conceding more points than their 117.4 per game average. However, the Warriors are holding opponents to 39 percent shooting and an average of 110.3 points in their eight home games.

Clippers vs Warriors Prediction

We saw what a difference Leonard makes even though he’s not at full strength. The Clippers won a pair of games with outstanding defense, and they’ve been good all season. The Warriors, however, are a different team in their barn and getting Thompson on a heater only makes them more dangerous. The Warriors have played some tight games at home and this could be another, but they’ve pulled them out.
