NFL Week 12 Opening Odds – By the Numbers

There is always plenty for NFL bettors to be thankful for this time of year, and the fact that we have three really good games to digest on Thanksgiving Day is at the top of that list. With five double-digit favorites on the Week 12 betting lines, there are a lot of teams that are thankful that their holiday weekend will include some cupcakes to go with their turkey.

The Numbers

0: The number of times the Texans have won or covered in Baltimore in their history. Houston has played some high-profile games against the Ravens over the years, but it just can’t see to get over the hump. Part of the problem is that Tom Savage is set to be the fifth different starting quarterback for the Texans in Baltimore in their history. If Houston wants to keep its playoff hopes alive, it’s going to have no choice but to pull off this upset.

1: The number of times the Titans have won in Indianapolis in their last 13 games. Not only is Tennessee 1-12 in its last 13 against the Colts, but it’s also 2-17 in its last 19. The Titans haven’t won a game in Indianapolis since 2007, going 0-9 since that point. Indy has covered the last six spreads in this series. The shocker of all of this is that Tennessee is laying 4.5-points against Chuck Pagano’s squad on Sunday.

13.5: The number of points the Packers are getting against Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football. Green Bay has only been an underdog of 13+ points once since 1994, that coming in 2010 when it traveled to New England. The Brett Hundley Packers are a far cry from the Aaron Rodgers Packers or the Brett Favre Packers, though, and they’re fresh off of a horrid shutout at the hands of the Ravens in Week 11.

17: The number representing the highest point spread of Week 12. The Patriots have been the best team in the NFL over the course of the last month. They’ve won six straight after starting at 2-2 and have covered four in a row. Now, the Pats are giving 17 to a Miami team that is likely going to be playing without the concussed Jay Cutler. It’s the biggest point spread of the season in the NFL and is the eighth time New England has laid at least 17 points in the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era.

53.5: The number of points in the over/under of the Saints/Rams game, the highest total amongst the Week 12 betting odds. This is the third consecutive week in which the Saints are playing in a game with the highest total of the week. This one is totally justified. Los Angeles and New Orleans are No. 2 and No. 3 in the NFL in scoring respectively. Last week was a tough one for Jared Goff and company, but the Rams should be back on the scoreboard with plenty of gusto this week against a New Orleans defense that was just shredded for 31 points by Kirk Cousins and the Redskins.
