Odds Analysis

The average UFC fan may not be too familiar with the names, though that’s likely to change with the winner of the main event between Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot vaulting up the rankings on the fringe of title contention. Ranked 11th in the lightweight division, Tsarukyan (18-2) enters on a five-fight winning streak with knockouts in the last two. Most recently he stopped Jose Alvarez in February and is the betting favorite at -265 on the UFC betting line.

Not to be outdone, Gamrot (20-1) puts his own winning streak on the line in what’s sure to be an epic battle. The No. 12 contender has three straight stoppages since suffering his first and so far only professional loss. Gamrot lost a close tussle with Guram Kutateladze in his UFC debut before charging up the rankings into the top-15 with impressive wins, most recently over Diego Ferreira last December. Gamrot is listed at +204.

Saturday could otherwise be known as moving day with other fights also likely to see the victor move up the rankings in their division. It’s not often you see a fighter with a record-tying 19 wins in his weight class as big an underdog as Neil Magny (26-9) is in his welterweight scrap. Fighting arguably one of the toughest schedules in a talented division, Magny will have his hands full with up and coming Shavkat Rakhmonov (15-0).

Just three fights into his UFC career Rakhmonov, has exceeded expectations and faces his stiffest test yet. He earned a first-round stoppage over Carlston Harris last time out and has never gone the distance in any of his 15 wins with eight (T)KOs and seven submissions. It’s an impressive resume that has the fighter from Kazakhstan listed as a -450 favorite. Magny opened with odds of +322.

UFC Fight Night Date & Time

We’re sure to see plenty of action inside the Octagon and there will be more action at the betting window with 12 fights making up the UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot card on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Preliminary round fights start at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN2. The main card is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. ET and is available on ESPN. Betting options for every fight on the ticket are available at BookMaker.eu when you’re ready to make a wager.

Arman Tsarukyan (-265) vs. Mateusz Gamrot (+204)

The talent-rich lightweight division will add another name to the list of title contenders with the winner of this bout sure to get some recognition. Tsarukyan lost his UFC debut by unanimous decision to top contender Islam Makhachev in 2019 but responded with five consecutive victories, the last two by stoppage over Christos Giagos Joel Alvarez.

Arman Tsarukyan (-265)

Gamrot has also been good since losing his promotional debut showing us a lot about the two. Both are well rounded fighters with similar styles and strengths, though Tsarukyan appears to be more technical. This one is likely to go the distance with Tsarukyan scoring the decision.

UFC Prediction: Arman Tsarukyan (-265) / Decision

Neil Magny +322 vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov -450

The storylines are hard to ignore in this matchup. Veteran Magny has been a mainstay in the division for a number of years with plenty of success along the way. And at 34 he’s running out of time to make a final push to the top. But he shows no signs of slowing down and is likely to show Rakhmonov a thing or two in the ring.

Neil Magny +322

Magny’s endurance and defense could war on the Kazhak, who’s never gone the distance. As a result we don’t know how Rakhmonov will react if this fights advances. Magny has relied on judges in a majority of his fights and taking this to the later rounds is certainly to his benefit, if he can get there. And that’s the problem. No fighter has lasted long against Rakhmonov, though Magny certainly has the ability. And that bodes well for his upset chances.

Prediction: Neil Magny (+322) / Decision
