Sports Betting: What To Bet On This Week

In what is now our new normal, we had an exciting weekend of sports action. Things are progressing slowly with leagues like the NBA, NHL and MLB setting tentative dates to resume play.

Meanwhile, soccer has become huge – if it can get any bigger. Germany’s Bundesliga resumed play last week joining a number of top leagues from countries around the world. The game is also a hit in the esports community with leagues competing all over the place. Making up for lost time NASCAR has another mid-week Cup Series race on Wednesday, one of several wagering opportunities available at online sportsbooks this week.

Horse Racing

While we wait for other sports to get up and running, one thing we’ve been able to count on during the shutdown is the ponies. The Memorial Day Holiday concludes on Monday with a number of tracks running. Three graded stakes races highlight the 11-race agenda at Santa Anita Park. The G2 Monrovia Stakes with a $200,000 purse has a post time of 5:34 p.m. ET. The day concludes with a pair of G1 races. At 7:38 p.m. ET the Shoemaker Mile gets going with former Preakness winner War of Will the betting favorite. Fillies and mares enter the gate at 8:39 p.m. ET for the Gamely Stakes.

Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, Fonner Park, Remington Park and Golden Gate Fields all have a full slate of races on Monday and throughout the week. Tampa Bay Downs will run on Wednesday with international races from France and Australia on the docket. Visit BookMaker.eu to handicap the odds and place your bets.

NASCAR

Proving that it doesn’t matter where you start from, Brad Keselowski came from the back of the grid to take the checkered flag at the Coca-Cola 600, becoming the third different driver to win since NASCAR resumed its Cup Series schedule just over a week ago. Finishing up a grueling stretch of four races in 11 days, drivers and teams remain in North Carolina preparing for Wednesday’s inaugural Alsco Uniforms 500. While it’s held on the same track, the upcoming race is far different from Saturday’s. The field will travel a little more than half the distance of the Coke 600. Check out BookMaker.eu for current odds to win the Alsco Uniforms 500. The race will be televised on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.

Soccer

It looks like there will soon be a number of premier soccer matches to wager on. La Liga and the English Premier League are eyeing a return to the pitch in the first part of June to join Germany’s Bundesliga, which rebooted a few weeks ago. Six Bundesliga matches are slated this week with four on Tuesday, five on Wednesday and one on Friday. Bayern Munich outscored opponents 7-2 winning both matches since the restart to maintain a slim lead in the standings.

Top leagues from Belarus, Denmark, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Czech Republic, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Israel and South Korea have either started or will resume play soon. A sincere apology if I omitted a country. Check out schedules and odds for all upcoming matches at BookMaker.eu.

Golf

We had a sample of live golf over the last two weekends with charity events featuring PGA Tour greats and a few NFL legends. Some of the lesser known players are in action this week on the men’s and women’s side. The West Florida Golf Tour has its winter season championship slated for Monday with Jazz Janewattananond listed as the betting favorite at BookMaker.eu. The women’s Cactus Tour is at the Troon North Golf Course in Scottsdale for its weekly tournament. Sophia Popov is the favorite to win her third event of the year. BookMaker.eu has all the odds.

Baseball

Following a day off on Monday the Korean Baseball Organization resumes play with a full slate of games starting Tuesday and lasting the week. First place NC Dinos polished off the weekend with a pair of wins over Hanwha improving to 14-3. They open a series with fourth-place Kiwoom Heroes on Tuesday. The CPBL in Taiwan continues with its schedule of games on Tuesday. Betting lines and odds are available at BookMaker.eu. Japan will join those leagues with its professional baseball season now set to begin on June 19.
